On the Trail to White Mountain

Mushers are back on the trail to White Mountain and a mandatory 8 hour layover. I spoke with Janet this evening and they are expecting a finish tomorrow evening. It is unclear if there wp was a Mushers Meeting in Koyuk, but after the problems with the trail markers, apparently the rest of the trail has been upgraded with more reflective markers. That will make it a bit easier on teams.
Pete and the Team cut a bit of rest to take the lead earlier in the race, so the added rest from the Koyuk break will have helped Team Kaiser more than others. This run from Koyuk to White Mountain will be 10-12 hours depending on conditions. Then a sprint to Nome!
A Big Thanks to Ryan Air for transportation for Team Kaiser and Team Diehl!
