And they are off!! Literally!!
It’s never a dull moment in dogsled racing and today was no exception. What started pretty slow to be honest ended up with a BANG! The announcer said “7-6-5” and off he went with a 5 second head start!! What well trained dog, though as he kept looking back and just hung in there about 5 yards or so in front of the Team until Pete set the hook and reconnected the harness. Apparently the brass snap got stuck and she was off in a flash!
There were a few strained faces to be sure and a few words as well– “What the heck just happened??” Ron, Sterling, and others were pretty concerned, but a few minutes later a short text from Pete– “got him”
Oh what a relief! As you look at the photos of Target in lead, but not connected to the Team it’s actually pretty cool. The Team is doing as ordered and off to the Trail!!
