2024 Iditarod Ceremonial Start – Baby It’s COLD Outside!!

It was a cold one out on the streets of Anchorage this morning as Kaiser Racing took to the “trail” for the ceremonial start of the 2024 Iditarod Trail Race.

Fans and sponsors were welcomed to one of the coldest ceremonial starts in many years. Wind and cold temperatures, however, did nothing to cool the warm wishes and the celebration that is this event.

Luckily as the sun grew brighter, so did temperatures and before long it was time to “GO” as Team Kaiser with Pete on the runners, Dad Ron on the tag sled, and Bethany and Aylee as Iditariders made it off in 26th position for a truly family affair. Many have gotten a chance to ride along including Pete’s Mom Janet, but this is the first time for both Bethany and Aylee. The little girl was ready to go-go-go and nothing but smiles as they made their way through to Campbell Creek airstrip.

Tomorrow will be the main event as Pete and the Team get away from the crowds and get this race underway. Though this is an important event, Pete is more than ready to get out on the trail. After nearly a week of festivities, all of the training and preparation are really what he is here for!!

Weather is supposed to be great tomorrow with cool temps and sunny skies for the restart at 2pm in Willow. Join us to send off Pete and the Team! Go Team Kaiser!!
