Good evening Race Fans! Wow we have an exciting evening in store of us tonight!
After 50 miles in the wilderness, Teams are beginning to return to the river and head down the 50 miles to Tuluksak and a mandatory 4 hour break. Mike Williams Jr. was in and out of Kalskag with Riley Dyche in hot pursuit. (Sound familiar? He was right on Pete’s heels last year as well!) Just a mile or so behind them are Pete and Emily Robinson who have been neck and neck for the last 10 miles or so.
Pete dropped on dog in Kalskag and was back on the trail right away.
Weather tonight is spectacular, if a little breezy.
Tonight: A slight chance of freezing rain after 3am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 19. Northeast wind 20 to 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Sunday: A slight chance of freezing rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 24. Northeast wind 15 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
I’m not ready to guestimate a finish, but I’ve started doing some calculating. Based on several races I’m thinking the window is betweek 9:30-10:30am.
