Pete and PeteR are On the Trail!

IMG_6006

Team Kaiser now has two teams on the K300 Trail. PeteR left in 6th position with a clean start followed 10 or so minutes later by Pete with the A Team. Pete will be racing to position the best he can, while PeteR will be running the younger inexperienced Team of 2 year olds to make it to the Finish Line.

This is PeteR’s first race of this mileage and he was pretty excited to be sure. We’ll meet him soon as I post his Bio and Interview.

Pete and the A Team were all business and cool as a candy bar as they entered the chute and left the Starting Line. This is Pete’s 6th consecutive K300 and it was evident. No wasted movements. Just calm and collected and ready to go.

The dogs on the other hand were READY to go. Jumping and Barking, both teams were pretty excited. The younger team especially was pretty boisterous and a bit tough to handle.

Mike Williams Sr. and Jr. are out on the trail as well as Richie Diehl from Aniak. It was ironic how the teams stacked up, with Mike Sr. leaving with Nathan Underwood and Mike Jr. leaving with Richie. Funny how things turn out…

Thanks to all of our Sponsors – Visit Our Sponsor Page! Lee Ryan from Ryan Air and Stan Foo from Donlin Gold both stopped by to give their best wishes and a special thanks to Lee for always being around to handle for the teams.

Here are the photos!!

I took a few minutes of Zach Fansler’s time at Headquarters on Race Day to see how it was going. He was pretty upbeat and indicated that dog drops and Officials are in place. Listen to the interview!

2014 Bogus 150 Musher List

This year Team Kaiser will be running 2 teams in the Kuskokwim 300, but won’t have a team in the Bogus 150. The Bogus is a great deal of fun for mushers and pit crews, and Ron and the Pit Crew will be missing it for sure.

Good Luck to the 2014 Bogus Mushers!
