Pete’s Perspective

Let’s take a look at the big picture.
John Baker is resting in White Mountain. He made the run from Koyuk in 13 hours and 8 minutes.
Pete and the team left Koyuk at 15:40. If he makes a similar run, that will put him into White Mountain at between 4:30 and 5:00am tomorrow morning.

UPDATE- Taking a look at last years run time, he did the trip in 11:20. That would put him into White Mountain at between 2 and 3am. That sounds better!

Haltmann not giving UP!

Sven Haltmann left 1 minute after Pete at 15:41. He is down to 8 dogs, while Pete has 12 in harness. Aliy Zirkle is out of Koyuk as well.

John Baker took a bit over 13 hours to make it to White Mountain. That would put Pete into White Mountain early tomorrow Morning at about 4am or so.

8 hour layover puts him back on the trail at noon, and then 10 hours or so to Nome. So probably won’t be pulling an all nighter. (Let’s hope!!)
