2016 K300 Drawing Photos

The group of 25 mushers in the 37th running of the Kuskokwim 300 Sled Dog race gathered this evening to select starting positions and get the rules for the upcoming race. The eager lot of men and women from around the State listened intently as race organizer Myron Angstman and others described the trail and other specifics for the event beginning tomorrow evening. In addition, Race Marshal Nels Alexie cautioned the competitors to stick to the rules and “LISTEN” so they understood them. The group of mushers includes 3 rookies, but the extent of mushing experience is as good as it gets. It’s going to be a shootout to be sure as conditions are improving and most of the dog drivers are excited to get going.

Pete and the Team will be leaving the chute in 20th position as they head out on the trail to defend the 2015 Kuskokwim 300 Win. He is in great spirits, but totally ready to get back on the trail and the first race of the season.

Here are the photos– Enjoy! (Check out a few more on the Kaiser Racing Facebook Page) We’ll have Pete’s pre-race interview tomorrow for you, but join us at the Starting line tomorrow evening at 6:30pm. Go Team Kaiser!
