Mackey is into White Mountain and into his mandatory 8 hour layover. He is about 2 1/2 hours in front of the second place musher and Yukon Quest winner Hans Gatt, from Whitehorse. The roles are reversed as Gatt is following Mackey into Nome. Mackey followed Gatt across the Yukon Quest finish line.
